How to Travel from Shenzhen to Guangzhou by Train

A city that surprises just as it impresses, Shenzhen has grown from nothing to the largest hub for China wholesale electronics within few short decades. Together with its neighboring city Guangzhou which proudly boasts vast wholesale markets for every product imaginable, these two manufactured landscapes operating in the relatively free-wheeling Guangdong province have attracted people with sound business minds.

The distance between Shenzhen and Guangzhou is 144 km with convenient transportation system especially by train. The following are two of the most common and convenient ways to travel from Shenzhen to Guangzhou by train.

How to travel from Shenzhen to Guangzhou?

  1. Shenzhenbei railway station – Guangzhounan railway station

It takes about half an hour travelling from Shenzhenbei to Guangzhounan by high-speed train(CRH) which runs at a speed of 300km/hour. The earliest train starts at 7am and latest at 23:00pm with a total of 89 trains in a day. The ticket for second class costs 74.5 rmb while first class costs 99 rmb.

  1. Luohu (Lowu) railway station – Guangzhoudong railway station

The train from Luohu to Guangzhou east runs much slower while compared to CRH train as it takes almost an hour to reach Guangzhou. The earliest train starts at 6:21 am while the latest one at 22:13 pm with a total of 60 trains in a day. The ticket for second class is on sale at 79 rmb while first class at 99 rmb.
